CNC Turning

Turning is a kind of NC machining process, in which the cutting tool (usually non-rotating tool) describes the spiral tool path by more or less linear movement when the workpiece rotates. The turning process is usually carried out on the lathe which is considered to be the oldest machine tool, and can be of different types, such as linear turning, taper turning, profiling turning or external grooving. These types of turning processes can produce materials of various shapes, such as straight, tapered, curved or grooved workpieces. Generally speaking, turning uses simple single-point cutting tools. Each group of workpiece materials has a set of optimal tool angles developed for many years.
